Fully Buffered DIMM Overview

Qimonda’s Fully Buffered DIMMs provide the memory architecture most suitable for systems which require high memory capacity combined with high speed. Its unique architecture builds on a single component (Advanced Memory Buffer) located on the DIMM which acts as a repeater and buffer between the memory controller located on the motherboard and the DDR2 SDRAM located on the module.

The transition to serial point-to-point connections makes bus-loading independent from DRAM I/O speed. Our customers benefit from our unique expertise as the only FB-DIMM supplier with in-house AMB design, combined with advanced power saving technology.

Qimonda´s Fully Buffered DIMMs set industry benchmarks in power saving for server systems in data centers. Thereby they help to significantly save costs.
